China Xiamen International Stone Fair 2011, www.stonefair.org.cn  which was started at the Xiamen International Conference & Exhibition Center www.xicec.com.cn  at the morning of March 6,is palnned to display the latest stones,innovations,stone techs, design solutions and service to the participants from the stone field home and aborad.

More than 1,370 exhibitors from different parts of the globe have gathered in Xiamen to take part in this professional trade fair/show. With the exhibiting space overpassing 105,000.00 square metres, the scale of this tradeshow is close to that of Marmomacc in Italy, the world’s biggest stone tradeshow currently.

“The construction of Phase 3 project at the Xiamen International Conference & Exhibition Center is expected to be completed and being utilized at the end of 2012. By then, the Xiamen Stone Fair 2013 is probably to oversize Marmomacc as the world’s largest stone fair”, according to Zheng Yaning, Director of CCPIT Xiamen.

At this year’s fair, most exhibitors and buyers focus on Chinese market, as its market share has been growing much larger in the past few years.

“Before 2008, our export growth reached more than 25% annually; however, in the past two years, we only witnessed single digital growth in export. By contract, the domestic market share has been growing considerably during this period of time”, said Zhou Peng, President of Wanli Stone Group.

Meanwhile, a groundbreaking ceremony of the Xiamen International Stone Centre was also held on 6th March. Occupying a total area of more than 20,000 square metres, the center is set to become the headquarter of the international stone operations upon its construction.
